Dogwood Acres OnLine Dedication

Hello Friends,

Whoever thought that Dogwood Acres would go online? After more than forty years as a weekly column in a local county newspaper, it just seems that the time is right to add a new dimension.

People often ask where Dogwood Acres is. I don't believe that "where" is as important as "who & what" Dogwood Acres is. It cannot be found on a map, but has become the identity of the heartbeat of our family. Nestled at the edge of a National Forest our homes are shaded by a forest of towering White Pines. At the end of winter and beginning of spring our world is brightened by dozens of wild flowering Dogwood Trees that are nestled among the Pines.

Mother loved the Dogwoods and so she named our home and her newspaper column Dogwood Acres. In the years following, each of us three children have built or moved into homes within shouting distance of "home", SO THERE - now you know what, why and "almost" where Dogwood Acres is. Moving forward with this new venture, I will dedicate Dogwood Acres OnLine to my Mother,Zoe Bilyeu, and also to my Granny, Nettie Bilyeu. It is my desire to always honor their memory and hold fast to the ideals of God and Family that kept them strong.
